Wheels up...

Yesterday, 8/16, was a long day. I arrived at the hospital at noon and Braden was going into shock. Of course this was a major concern and we were taken back to the ICU. We worked with him for about an two hours to get him stable. I was holding his arms and helping the nurse get an IV started and was there with them every step of the way. Our Respiratory Therapist saved the day by converting his mask into a modified "brown paper sack" to calm him down. After this episode and with some encouragement from Susie and her mother, we decided that it would be in our best interest to request a transfer to Children’s in Houston. Of course this sounds easy but there is a lot of background work that has to be done in order to make this happen. Our Drs are talking with their Drs on the best mode and time to transport. We will most likely leave today, 8/17, via medical transport. We were told that this can happen at a moments notice and Kodi is prepared to travel with him and I will follow up either tomorrow or Saturday. So, if there is not an update for awhile, please know that Debby and Susan will have the most current info to share. Kodi and I are hanging tough and doing everything we can to get Braden the care he deserves.

Take care and God Bless,

Oh my goodness, I wish I could be there for all three of you. I know that God doesn't give you more than you can handle and you have an amazing support team in place.

If you need an escape in Houston please let me know, I have a lot of good friends down there who would be more than happy to do whatever they can for you.

Sending more prayers your way,

Braden and I say "Many Thanks" Susanna for being there for Kodi & Brad. I wish I could be there every step of the way, but that is impossible. Thanks for being such a great shoulder to lean on, cry on, cry with, etc.... It is a little easier knowing that you are there for her.

Kodi called me today at 3 and they were getting ready to transport them to the launch pad to get them in the air and on thier way to Houston tonight.
She did say that they had to intibate- not sure on the spelling today since he went into shock again. Keep those prayers coming strong. I think that I might make a mad dash to Houston either this weekend or first part of next week.

Love you all~ SS

Thank you for all you have done and we pray God will hear all the prayers and for continued safe travel as this family is apart a few days. WE all can make this work. So many people are lifting this family and the doctors up.
